Get Your State Tax Refund Now With TurboTax
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TurboTax(R) is helping taxpayers get their state tax refunds now, even if they're affected by IRS processing delays, while many other tax providers will make people wait until after Feb. 14.
"There's no reason people should have to wait to collect some of the money they're due," said Bob Meighan, CPA and vice president at TurboTax from Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU). "Even if you're one of the 9 million taxpayers affected by the federal delays, you can prepare and e-file both your federal and state tax returns now with TurboTax. We'll hold your federal return until the IRS begins accepting them on Feb. 14 and submit your state return right away. You'll get your state refund back fast, so that money is back in your pocket without delays."
Last year, California state tax refunds averaged $823, while New York state refunds averaged almost $1,000, according to the states' departments of revenue.
"People count on their tax refunds to pay bills, buy groceries and pay their rent," said Meighan. "That's why TurboTax has made it a priority to help our customers get their state refund back in their pockets as quickly as possible. We know that $500 or $1,000 makes a big difference."
Taxpayers in the following states can file taxes now and get their state refunds immediately with TurboTax: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
