Intuit Grants $5,000 Wishes for Small Businesses Through May 12
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
WHO: |
Intuit, Inc. | |
WHAT: |
Intuit announced the first grant recipients in its “Growing Strong” Love Our Local Business program, which is granting 15 wishes of up to $5,000 value to deserving small businesses across the country. Green Bay-based Centerpiece LLC, Wisconsin’s first autism treatment center, received sensory integration equipment that will help children during therapy sessions, while Beaumont, Texas-based Cookies for Kaiser received a commercial mixer to make more dog treats for animal rescue organizations. Fans can vote and small business owners can still submit wishes up to the May 12, 2013 entry deadline. |
|
WHY: |
Based on a September 2012 Intuit Small Business Survey, 87 percent of small business owners said their businesses are struggling to survive, and forty-seven percent of respondents said a $5,000 infusion would significantly help or even save their businesses. | |
|
||
Based on these findings, Intuit kicked off the Love Our Local Business program in the holiday season of 2012 by granting 15 small business owners wishes valued at $5,000—money that often meant the difference between surviving or thriving. Thousands of small businesses submitted their wishes. This time, Intuit is doing the same with a new group of small businesses, granting 15 wishes May 6-12. To date, Intuit has awarded more than $1.1 million to help small businesses grow. |
