Shaquille O’Neal Added to QuickBooks Connect Main Stage Lineup

Intuit Announces New Speakers Slated for Silicon Valley Event

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq:INTU) today announced the addition of Shaquille O’Neal to the main stage agenda of QuickBooks Connect, to be held Oct. 24-26 in San Jose, Calif.

The company also announced additional speakers for the Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs breakout session track at the conference, including entrepreneur Bill Rancic, USA Today columnist Rhonda Abrams and Death Wish Coffee owner Mike Brown, winner of this year’s QuickBooks’ Small Business Big Game campaign. The conference returns to the San Jose Convention Center for its third year with the goal of uniting thousands of diverse audience members from around the globe to connect, learn and be inspired by a dynamic lineup of speakers.

Main Stage Inspiration

A cultural icon, O’Neal is best known for an NBA career spanning nearly two decades – a 15-time NBA All-Star and member of the Hall of Fame. O’Neal has also established himself as a powerful media personality, entrepreneur and businessman over the years. Ranked among “The 100 Most Creative People in Business” by Fast Company, he had the first verified Twitter account and is currently an NBA analyst on TNT’s Emmy-award winning show “Inside the NBA.”

In addition to being an early investor in companies such as Google, O’Neal has managed an increasingly robust personal brand, which has included television shows, a shoe line and tech products. Philanthropically, his relationship with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America dates back to his youth, and he’s been a national spokesperson for the nonprofit organization for the past 15 years.

Educational Breakout Session Speakers

In addition to main stage appearances, QuickBooks Connect will feature breakout sessions developed with its varied audience members in mind. The Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs track – one of four created for the conference – will provide content designed to help attendees propel their business to the next level. Speakers announced today include:

  • Rancic, returning to QuickBooks Connect to ignite attendees’ entrepreneurial spirit through his personal journey as a small business owner. In addition to being the winner of the first season of NBC’s “The Apprentice,” he is a real estate developer, co-owner of three restaurants, co-owner of Xo, G Wine and the author of multiple books.
  • Abrams, widely recognized as one of the nation’s foremost experts on entrepreneurship and business planning, has helped millions of entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses, in part with her weekly small business column in USA Today. Her best-selling book, “Successful Business Plan: Secrets & Strategies,” has sold more than one million copies.
  • Brown, sharing his journey as a small business owner, will discuss what’s happened since February’s Big Game commercial and detail how he’s scaled his business for worldwide growth. As an accountant-turned-entrepreneur, Brown knows what it takes to start, run and grow a small business – and how to stand out from the crowd.
