QuickBooks Connect Adds Five Business Pioneers to Main Stage

Eva Longoria, Jillian Michaels, Christian Siriano and others to Share Their Inspiring Entrepreneurial Journeys

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq:INTU) has added five additional speakers to the QuickBooks Connect main stage lineup: actress and entrepreneur Eva Longoria, leading health and wellness expert Jillian Michaels, critically-acclaimed fashion designer Christian Siriano, Drybar founder Alli Webb and business visionary Derreck Kayongo.

QuickBooks Connect takes place Oct. 24-26 in San Jose, Calif., and will unite thousands of small business owners, accountants, self-employed individuals and developers under one roof to connect, learn and be inspired. The event is designed to provide attendees with inspiration from main stage speakers, complemented by hundreds of educational breakout sessions on topics that range from financial management to marketing and sales techniques.

The newly announced speakers join fellow business luminaries to share their success stories paired with practical advice and insights. Many are best known for their time in the public eye, and all have demonstrated a unique entrepreneurial spirit and drive:

  • Longoria is a Golden Globe-nominated, Screen Actors Guild and ALMA Award- winning actress, producer, director, entrepreneur and philanthropist. She was named Philanthropist of the Year by the Hollywood Reporter and honored by Variety with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Power of Women. She is founder of the Eva Longoria Foundation, co-founder of Eva’s Heroes and national spokesperson for Padres Contra el Cancer. Longoria owns BESO Restaurant, production company UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, fragrances EVA and EVAmour and a home collection line. She also recently designed the Eva Longoria Collection fashion line.
  • Michaels, a fitness expert and life coach who’s been using QuickBooks for five years, has built an international community of followers from her hit televisions shows, fitness DVDs and exercise streaming platform FitFusion. Her company, Empowered Media, which she co-owns with Giancarlo Chersich, is dedicated to providing people with accessible and affordable solutions for all their wellness needs.
  • Siriano, a Council of Fashion Designers of America designer, launched his eponymous collection in 2008. A QuickBooks customer since 2012 and dubbed "the new king of old-school glamour" by Elle and "the next billion-dollar designer" by Yahoo! Style, his designs have appeared on the world's biggest stars and most prestigious red carpets. Siriano partners with brands such as Payless ShoeSource, Lane Bryant, Victoria’s Secret, Best Buy, HSN, Disney, Nordstrom, Puma, Starbucks and Spiegel. He is the youngest person to appear on Crain's “40 Under 40” list, was a member of Forbes' "30 Under 30" in 2015 and co-founded accessories e-commerce retailer Send the Trend, serving as chief curator until its QVC acquisition in 2012.
  • Webb, a longtime professional stylist, founded Drybar in 2010 after a lifelong quest for a great blowout at an affordable price. What started as a mobile business quickly turned into the first Drybar in Brentwood, Calif., and has since expanded to nearly 70 locations with over 3,000 stylists across the country. Drybar also offers a full line of professional hair styling products and tools, all of which were created for the perfect blowout. Webb’s accolades include the 2014 CEW Achiever Award and being included in Fortune’s “40 Under 40” and Marie Claire’s “16 Most Fascinating Women.” Her first book, “The Drybar Guide to Good Hair for All,” will be released Oct. 18 by Abrams Publishing.
  • Kayongo, a sustainability expert and the CEO of the Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, fled a civil war in Uganda and settled with his family in Kenya. He later moved to the United States, where he became a successful entrepreneur as the founder of the Global Soap Project. The program recycles partially used soap from hotels by turning them into new bars and redistributing them to vulnerable populations in more than 90 countries. Kayongo has won several awards, including CNN's Top Ten Heroes Award in 2011 and the MAXX Entrepreneurship Award. He recently coauthored “The Roadmap to Success” with Deepak Chopra and Ken Blanchard.
