Intuit and O'Reilly Media Deliver Online Guidebook for QuickBase

"QuickBase: The Missing Manual" Offers a Continuously Updated Online Reference Tool

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. & SEBASTOPOL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq:INTU) and O'Reilly Media announced the release of a first-of-its kind, continuously updated guidebook for users of QuickBase, Intuit's customizable and shareable online workgroup application. "QuickBase: The Missing Manual" by Nancy Conner, is accessible from QuickBase.com, enabling users to easily and instantly get answers to their questions.

The guidebook, the result of an innovative publishing venture, establishes new territory for both companies. It is the first Missing Manual title to be issued online before appearing in print and it marks the first book written about the QuickBase product. The book combines O'Reilly's publishing expertise with Intuit's customer focus and easy-to-use products to create a unique reference guide delivered in the way customers want.

"QuickBase is built for business users who aren't tech savvy, so a continuously updated manual that is easy to read and understand is a great reference tool for them," said Bill Lucchini, vice president and general manager for QuickBase. "Having help from a major publisher like O'Reilly will go a long way in better serving our growing customer base and make QuickBase an even more valuable tool for corporate workgroups."

QuickBase is the fastest and easiest way to deliver online workgroup applications that actually work the way an organization's teams work. The hosted Web site combines database, groupware and business management capabilities that enable customized workgroup applications to be created and shared online to improve productivity.

"O'Reilly enjoys using breakthrough technology as much as we love writing about it," said Peter Meyers, managing editor of O'Reilly's Missing Manual series. "Thanks to industry-leading publishing tools we've developed over the past few years, we're thrilled to offer a 'living book' that keeps pace with Intuit's great product."

The manual, available at no charge to QuickBase users, includes tips on everything from getting started to advanced customizations. Updates and revisions to "QuickBase: The Missing Manual" will be released in conjunction with product upgrades and can be accessed from the QuickBase "help" menu. A print version also is available for purchase.

"Being able to quickly and easily access a resource that offers so much valuable information will make using QuickBase that much easier and I'm looking forward to finding additional ways to use the product," said Suzanne Wiley Young, director of class activities at Dartmouth College, who uses QuickBase to track class dues payments.
