I’m excited to announce that Intuit has acquired Playbook HR, a leading solution for on-demand marketplaces to manage the hiring, on-boarding, and compliance needs of independent contractors.
The rapid growth of the on-demand economy has created new compliance challenges for both contractors and marketplaces. Our mission is to serve both sides of this economy. We want to make it easier for independent contractors to manage their finances and pay their taxes, and we also want to make it possible for on-demand marketplaces to manage their growing rosters of independent contractors and help them stay within the compliance guidelines.
We’ve made great progress since first launching QuickBooks Self Employed in January:
- We’ve helped independent contractors track $300 million in business expenses, helping them save money on their taxes and simplifying their financial lives.
- We’ve announced key partnerships with leading on-demand marketplaces such as Uber, Lyft, TaskRabbit, Fiverr, UpCounsel and HourlyNerd.
- We unveiled an integration with Stripe that allows data to flow securely and seamlessly from an on-demand marketplace into QuickBooks Online Self-Employed.
And now we’re adding Playbook HR to help us deliver a robust application, onboarding, and compliance solution for on-demand marketplaces.
For now, Playbook HR will continue to serve its growing customer base as it does today. Over the long-term, we plan to integrate the product with QuickBooks Online Self Employed to provide an efficient end-to-end compliance experience for the on-demand economy.
Just another great step forward in the journey for QBSE.
